Why Lala Land Exists
A sacred space born from love, healing, and a deep commitment to wellness

My Story
As a Black woman, I have witnessed firsthand the rising tide of health challenges and mental health struggles affecting all communities — but especially within Black communities. The statistics are alarming, but more than numbers, I see the faces of my family, my friends, my neighbors. I see the silent battles, the unspoken pain, and the desperate need for healing.
I know all too well about the importance of taking care of your body. My own journey began with a battle against hypothyroidism — a condition I was able to reverse by focusing on my nutrition and holistic health practices. It was a powerful lesson in how deeply connected our food, our mindset, and our healing truly are.
But life had more lessons in store. Just when I thought I had overcome that mountain, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. The doctors told me I had only 6 months to a year to live. In that moment, everything changed.
But only my faith and my family have made me able to look towards the future. And every day I look towards the future, it creates more life for me — life that I will never waste again.
Through it all, I am still here — still thriving, still fighting. It's work. Hard work. Learning to release control and surrender to a higher purpose has been the most challenging yet transformative part of this journey. And from that journey, this app was born.
🎨 From Idea to Innovation
I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design — formally known as SCAD — where I learned to take an idea from vision to reality. That creative foundation is what gave me the courage to bring this idea to life: to innovate and create something that would help our community come back to our spiritual selves, woven into the functional, everyday tools we already reach for — the journal, the meditation, the affirmation, the meal, the grounding pause. Lala Land is where art, technology, and spirit meet the rhythm of your daily life.
A Different Lens
I was raised Christian, and that foundation taught me about faith, love, and community. But as I walked through my healing journey, I began to see the world through different eyes. This app is not based on religion — it's based on seeing clearly. It's for those who have been called to dive deeper, to question, to explore the vast mystery of existence beyond what any single tradition can contain.
Spirituality is not something to fear — it is returning back to our true nature. We are spiritual beings having a human experience, not the other way around. When we reconnect with our spiritual essence, we reconnect with the source of all healing, all love, and all peace.
Dick Gregory once spoke about wearing special glasses with three rules:
1. Once put on, they can never be taken off.
2. You can never see things as your tribe says they are, but only as they truly are.
3. You can never force anyone else to wear them.
Lala Land is for those who have put on these glasses — or are ready to. We don't force anyone to see what we see. We simply create space for those who are already awakening.
My journey into integrative health and energy healing wasn't just a career choice — it was a calling born from my own experiences and a deep desire to create change. As an Integrative Health Practitioner and Certified Reiki Practitioner, I've learned that true wellness encompasses mind, body, and spirit. You cannot heal one without addressing the others.
Lala Land was created as a sanctuary — a sacred digital space where anyone can access tools for spiritual growth, mental clarity, and emotional healing. From daily affirmations that rewire negative thought patterns, to angel number guidance that connects us to the divine, to mindful nutrition that nourishes our temple — every feature was thoughtfully designed to support holistic wellness.
This app is my dedication to my children, my family, my friends, and to all souls who are ready to see the world through different eyes.
🌍 Standing with Immigrant Families
My children and their father's family are Ghanaian immigrants — proud members of a diaspora that spans continents and generations. Through them, I've come to deeply understand the courage it takes to leave everything you know in search of a better life, and the pain of being separated from loved ones by borders and policies.
Today, my heart breaks for all families enduring the fear, harassment, and trauma inflicted by unjust immigration policies and ICE enforcement. I have witnessed the terror in communities — children separated from parents, families torn apart, people living in constant fear of being taken from their homes. This is not justice. This is cruelty.
I stand in solidarity with all immigrants and minorities — those documented and undocumented, those seeking asylum, and those simply trying to survive. Your humanity is not determined by papers. Your worth is not defined by borders.
To every immigrant family going through this: You are seen. You are loved. You are not alone. I pray for your protection, your reunification, and your peace. May healing find you, and may justice prevail. 🙏🏾
